Jamal
Anderson, "JAM", is the premier Running Back in the NFL. The 1998 NFL
season was JAM'S 5th, and he highlighted it by rushing the Atlanta Falcons
to their first ever Super Bowl appearance. JAM'S dominating power, toughness,
and quickness have many NFL personnel likening his versatile athletic
ability to his childhood hero, the great Hall of Famer Jim Brown.
Career:
JAM was drafted in the 7th round of the 1994 draft (201st overall). He
saw little action in his first 2 years as a Falcon. Since 1996 JAM has
been at the top of his game, producing 3 consecutive 1,000+ rushing yard
seasons. JAM has 26 career games with over 100 all-purpose yards. Under
Coach Dan Reeves, the Falcons are 20-2 when JAM gets 20 or more carries,
including 15-0 in 1998. JAM has had 15 career 100 yard rushing games,
3 of them over 150 yards. He has not missed a game in 4 consecutive years
(64 games). At the age of 26, JAM is presently 7th among Falcon career
TD leaders.
